Year 10 and 11 pupils have the opportunity to participate in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. A large proportion of students take part and many achieve the Bronze and Silver Award. Some even go onto the Gold Award.
We offer practice expeditions before the real thing to help the students mentally and physically prepare themselves for the big test. As a result of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, we believe that our students build self confidence; gain a sense of responsibility; and develop problem solving, communication and presentation skills. All in all, we encourage our pupils to participate in activities that will help them develop into happy, skilful and confident people.
