Senior School Sport - Extra Curricular Activities Summer 2013
Sport is an important part of life at Sunderland High School. Pupils enjoy their Physical Education and Games lessons, and extra-curricular clubs are well attended. GCSE Physical Education is a popular option for Year 10/11 pupils and each year there is a healthy take-up at AS/A2 level.
There are 4 full time members of the PE teaching staff including the Director of Sport.
The school's PE and sport facilities include a sports hall (full-sized basketball and netball courts, four badminton courts, two indoor cricket nets); a full size astro-turf hockey pitch with floodlighting; and a grass pitch. Additional facilities on the Senior School site include a fitness room and a gym area. The following is a selection of sports offered by Sunderland High School:
- Net and Wall Games: Tennis, Badminton, Squash, Short Tennis
