Issue 33                                   24th June 2011

Bonjour, Paris from Year 12!

On Saturday 11th June, members of Year 12 departed on the annual Sixth Form trip to Paris. Accompanying the group of 29 students were Mrs Robson, Mr Gardner and Mrs Hallam. We embarked from Newcastle Station on Saturday morning, taking one train to King’s Cross, then walking across to St Pancras to catch the Eurostar to Paris. From the station we took two metros to the hotel which was well situated near many restaurants and shops. On the Sunday, Year 12 enjoyed a brilliant trip to Disneyland Paris, with almost everyone taking a spin of Space Mountain. This was followed by tea in Disney Village and then a trip on a Double Decker train back to the hotel. Monday saw the group visiting the Eiffel Tower, Napoleon’s tomb and the French army museum. Tuesday was our last day in Paris, when we visited L’Arc de Triomphe, the Musée D’Orsay and took a relaxing boat trip down the River Seine. Sadly, we had to leave on Wednesday to return home. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, so thank you very much to the members of staff who accompanied us!  (Sebastian Ward)
