Junior School Speech Day

This year, our Junior School Speech Day takes place on Thursday, 7th July from 2pm in the Sports Hall.

Our Junior School Speech Day is always a memorable and pleasurable occasion. Its purpose is to celebrate the success of our children over the last academic year and to present prizes to those who have stood out as achieving in a number of different ways.

The day is not just about recognition of academic success. It is also a celebration of our children's sporting achievements, their charitable work, their caring for others and their personal fight to achieve against all odds by really trying hard to improve their own lives.

I am pleased to announce that our guest speaker will be the Reverend Canon Stephen Taylor, MBE. The event will conclude with a cream tea in the marquee.

I do hope that as many parents and other family members will be able to join us in celebration of the children's achievements. As with previous years, we will begin with a slide show reflecting the highlights of this academic year from about 1.50pm -  just prior to the formal speeches and presentation of prizes.

After School Club

Could parents whose children use the after school club please note that the facility will NOT be available on Friday 8th July. All other days will be as expected, including the Junior School Speech Day. The after school club will also not be available on 14th July, our final day of the term when we close at 12 noon.

Congratulations

To the following children who are celebrating birthdays over the coming weeks: Adam Idrissi Sbai, Patrick McFall and Lucy Stobbart.

Sports Week Success

Many congratulations to all of the competitors who took part in our sports afternoons last week. Everyone really tried their hardest and there were some memorable individual achievements. The overall winner of the House Sports Shield was TIGER whilst Drake was the winners of the Swimming Gala. We look forward to finding out which house will be the overall Champions for 2011 when the result is announced on Speech Day!

Year Assemblies

Last week the Nursery children performed a delightful assembly about Noah and the Ark. When you consider that some of the children are only 2 years of age they did an absolutely fantastic job of being able to learn their lines and the songs. Thank you to all parents for their help with costumes along with the nursery staff.
