Lunch Menu

Meal menus from Monday 16^th January are posted elsewhere on the school website. The Lunch Rota for this week will be 12 - Year 2, 12.10 - Year 3, 12.15 - Year 5, 12.20 - Year 4, 12.25 - Year 6

School Term Dates

To assist parents with the planning of holidays etc, here is a final reminder of the remaining key dates for this academic year:

Monday 13^th Feb to Fri 17^th Feb - Half Term

Monday 20^th Feb - Staff Development Day

Monday 2^nd April to Fri 14^th April - Easter Holidays

Monday 16^th April - Pupil Term begins

Monday 7^th May - Bank Holiday

Monday 4^th June to Fri 8^th June - Half Term

**Wednesday 11^th July - Last day of Term finish 12 noon.

Monday 3^rd September - Staff Development Day

Tuesday 4^th September - Staff Development Day

Wednesday, 5^th September - Pupils Return

Please note that after school activities will not be taking place week beginning Monday 26^th March - the final week of term. Also, there will be no after school club operating on Friday, 30^th March.

Swimming Classes - Spring Term

Swimming classes for Years 1, 5, Reception and Nursery have now commenced for the Spring Term! Year 1 will swim as two groups from 9.30am until 10.30am. Year 5 will swim from 10.30am until 11.30am. Parents of Reception children have already been informed when their groups will swim on alternative Fridays. Please note that all children from Reception onwards should be wearing the correct SHS swimming costume and swimming hat. These are available from the school shop every Wednesday afternoon.

NSPCC Assembly

On 18^th January, Nina from the NSPCC will be visiting our school. She will impart some important safety messages and talk to the children about the charity. We will be asking the children if they would like to join in a sponsored event which we will be running in school. The event promises to be both educational and inspirational and we hope the children will both enjoy and support this worthy cause by participating in this activity.

Thursday, 19^th January - Reception Class visit to Blue Reef Aquarium, Tynemouth, 9.30am until 2.30pm

Friday, 20^th January - Nursery / Reception Swimming!

Premises Maintenance

Whilst the external doors along the patio are being looked at, both of Miss Eden's doors have had to be locked until a suitable repair can be made to their hinges. This is a temporary measure and in the meantime, Year 1 should continue to use an alternative entrance.

After School Clubs

There are several after school clubs that are being delivered by outside coaches this term for which a nominal charge is made. Could all parents please ensure that payment is made by the third week at the absolute latest otherwise attendance at the club will not be possible. Outside coaches are not employed by the school and they give of their time freely to support our children in as many activities as possible but rely upon this work as an income.

Parents' Evening

The next Junior School Parents' Meeting takes place on Monday 19^th March (plus Tuesday 20^th for some infant parents). A letter will be issued soon to all parents to remind you of this event. You will have the opportunity to discuss your child's progress since September with the class teacher and others who teach your child. As the evenings will begin as early as 3.50pm please note that there will be no after school clubs held on the Monday except those delivered by visiting staff. Tuesday classes will run as scheduled.
