Homework
Years 7, 8 and 9
In Years 7 and 8 homework tasks are usually designed to be done on the evening they are set. As a pupil moves into Year 9, some of the homework tasks are longer and may be set over two or three evenings. Pupils are then expected to be able to organise their time and priorities to ensure that homework is completed by the due date.
In Year 7 pupils are expected to do between 40 minutes’ and an hour’s worth of homework each evening. In Year 8 this increases. By Year 9 pupils are expected to do up to two hours’ homework each evening.
Years 10 and 11
In Years 10 and 11, pupils should expect to be doing between two and two and a half hours’ work each evening. On nights when specific homework is not set, pupils must use the time to progress coursework or for revision.
